What: The Save Tenzin Delek campaign called attention to the Chinese government’s unjust death sentence of this innocent Tibet monk. We utilized street stencils, apparel and posters, empowering activists around the globe to plaster Tenzin’s face on every available surface. Collaborating with the Beastie Boys, we also created an online movie to get the word out virtually.
Why: Believing that China could not commit such a miscarriage of justice if the world was aware of Tenzin, we did our part to save his life by spreading his name and face far and wide. Shortly after the campaign’s launch, China, without warning, commuted Tenzin’s sentence — a great victory for the cause of human rights.
